All about money

Author : admin 05/16/2009

Money management in online gambling is essential. For example, there are many people who have no control over their money in a brick and mortar casino which leads you to believe they would have no control over their money in online casinos which would be an accurate assumption. Online gambling is a bit trickier for those who have no discipline to control their own money.

The best way to control online gambling is to set a weekly rather than a monthly gambling budget. Once you have played out your budget, that’s it and no digging into the next week’s budget or bankroll. Also, in order to be able to win over a period of time, you should also think about putting a win target on your gaming sessions. Once you make so much money in a gambling session, then you are done and you roll that money into the following week’s bankroll and put the money you didn’t lose as well as the money for the following week, back in the bank.

While many people often forget when playing against a machine or more specifically, a home computer, that the credits are indicative of real money, the players who keep it all in perspective end up coming out ahead in their games of choice. Players who are keen on finding a way to manage their bankrolls effectively online are players who are able to come back to online gaming again and again.

It’s important to remember that while online casinos aren’t necessarily going to have the same expenses as the brick and mortar casinos, they are still going to claim they have far more than the average player will recognize. After all, there are affiliates to pay and the electric bill and the office employees of the company. Yeah, and don’t forget the CEO who will need to keep up his one million plus dollar salaries per year! Basically, the online casinos are not going to just freely hand you a multitude of jackpots and easy wins because they can’t if they want to stay in business. However, if you will learn to think about the small wins, then you will likely be able to find some profitability in your online games of choice.

Gambling Mistakes

Author : admin 05/16/2009

Many gamblers assume that when they lose a wager this is simply due to the odds being stacked against them. While it is true that, with regards the odds, the house always maintains a marginal advantage, this is really not an excuse for constantly being on the losing side.

In general the favour to the house is usually around 3%, in other words, they make sure that overall they will always receive at least 3% of all money passing through their casino. So if you were playing in dollars, they would receive $0.03 for every $1 played. On average then, you should only be down around $0.30 for every $10 that you play.

Those gamblers who are more highly skilled can manage to skew the odds so that, although the house still maintains its 3% advantage, they do not lose 3% of their gambling bankroll, no, they ensure that this house advantage is met by other players against whom they are playing.

Following these few simple rules, you can learn how to reduce your losses too:

Drunken Mistakes:
Ok, most people have drunken mistakes that they would rather forget, but when it comes to gambling, it can be practically impossible to forget, you will be reminded of it every time that you look at your bank balance!

It is easy to get drunk and gamble massive amounts of money, especially with the advent of the internet. In the past, if you were too drunk, i.e. stumbling around and making a nuisance of yourself, the casino would be very likely to remove you from the premises, rather than allowing you to upset their better behaved customers- you would not have had a choice, you would have had to stop gambling. But nowadays, unless you have a particularly grouchy flatmate/spouse, no-one will be kicking you out of your home…….that is until you have gambled it away, then the bailiffs might!!

Being drunk will impair your judgements, you are likely to bet too often and with too higher amounts. And remember, a casino understands this and they have an interest in getting you tipsy, so as to impair your judgement slightly, so try and avoid alcohol both at home and in the casino…..unless you want to wake up with your worst ever hangover!!

Understanding strategies:
One of the most important rules is to understand thoroughly the game you are playing; this is easy enough to do. You can research a whole host of games on line, and often you will be able to find winning strategies and tips.

Once you have understood the rules of a particular game you can then join up with different sites that allow you to play and practice the various games, but if you do this you need to remember that the players against whom you are playing will be of a poorer quality than those who play for real cash, so expect games to be more difficult when you play for real.

It is also true to say that many people who gamble online never bother to do any research at all, and their problem will always be that they have not drawn on the expertise and knowledge of other; no-one can provide themselves with a complete understanding of anything. If you do not do adequate research, it is your wallet that will suffer.

If you do not have internet access at home or somebody else is using your computer, there are many books on the market that can help you too, and these have the advantage of often being written by experts.

Bankroll glitches:
You have to have a good idea of how best to manage your bankroll; incidentally your bankroll is the amount of money you have available to gamble with. It is like any financial imperative, managing your bankroll requires a lot of thought and a lot of planning.

You need to make sure that your bankroll amounts only to that which you can comfortably afford, that means no gambling away your dinner money or TV licence. Once you have spent your allocated amount make sure that you stop gambling, maybe put one of your close friends in charge of your credit card with orders not to let you spend more than you have set aside.

You will run into problems if you begin to develop an idea that just one more gamble will not be a problem, there will always be “just one more” to go if you start down this road.

Never chase your losses by making bigger bets:
For those players who are frequent gamblers, this is probably an issue of which you are familiar, we have all been there, and it seems to be part of human nature. For some people however, this technique of chasing losses can become a habit. These types of players will often say that a big win is just around the corner or that they know what they are doing and actually have a master plan.

For such players as outlined above, they can often be seen to raise their wagers by up to 3 or 4 times in order to recuperate their losses. Most of the time this back fires, do not fall in to the trap of thinking that you will be the lucky one whose fortune will be changed, everybody thinks this. If you are going through a run of bad bets, our advice is, if you wish to carry on playing, to reduce your bets- however the best advice would be to cut your losses and leave for the time being.

Card counting: is it illegal?

Author : admin 05/16/2009

Many people think that card counting is illegal and that it is a method to cheat when playing at blackjack, but good news!! The card counting strategy has nothing illegal about it.

Card counting is simply a strategy that is used in blackjack; it is concerned with evaluating the desirability of the cards that remain to be dealt. It is not a form of cheating, if you are only using your brain power in order to keep count of the cards which have already been dealt.

On the other hand, if you were to employ the use of specialised software, or technical equipment, to make complicated predictions about the remaining cards, this would definitely be considered cheating, and you will be removed from the casinos membership lists if you are caught, you must also be aware that casinos are likely to pass on to other casinos the profiles of people which they find cheating at their establishments.

Additionally, if you decide to work as part of a team in order to beat the house, this will be considered as illegal. If you were to pull off such a stunt you could increase your team’s chances of winning against the house up to around a 50% advantage, so it is not surprising that all casinos will ban groups of people they believe to be working as a team.

The casinos always have the right to refuse players the possibility of playing at their establishments, and they can also enforce a rule whereby certain players will be disallowed from playing with certain other players. This is probably the worst case scenario if a casino ever suspects you of using a card counting technique.

Beginners guide to online casinos

Author : admin 05/16/2009

In this article we provide essential information that all players should understand before they venture into the realms of online gambling. Principally aimed at beginners, the information provided will allow you to take the correct approach to gambling in order to maximise your experience when participating in online gambling.

Should you have confidence in online casinos?

You can take comfort in the fact that you can have confidence in many online casinos. However, some do appear to have a few dishonest practices. In order to avoid these ‘rouge casinos’ we recommend that you play only at the sites that are popularly advocated on online casino review website. Our list of recommended casinos is reliable as we have tested each casino individually in order to establish their good practices.

In reality, online casinos have no reason to cheat in order to win money, they already operate from an advantaged position over the individual players, as do all real world casinos (N.B. the house advantage varies according to the games played), they can also rely fairly on errors made by players that leads them to lose when they could have won, errors such as a lack of concentration at a critical moment.

Additionally, because online casinos have to purchase expensive licences, pay extensive duty and tax bills in order to legally provide a gambling service, to cheat would be to lose customers, and thus money, ultimately leading to liquidation of the business, meaning that they would have wasted money- the licences alone can cost in the region of £35,000pa.

How do you choose an online casino?

The main criteria to take into consideration when choosing which casinos to play with include the following; the variety of games on offer, for example, do they have the game you are most interested in playing; the redistribution percentages, i.e. the amount of the money that gets deposited that is returned to the player, this should be at least 95%; the options concerning monetary transactions, the means by which you can deposit and withdraw, the time it takes for winnings to be returned to your bank account; and finally, and most importantly, the level of customer care- are they available 24/7? Do the respond well to queries and within a reasonable amount of time? How are they available, telephone, email, live help, etc.?

Playing on your computer:

In general, the procedure consists of downloading the casinos software onto your computer then installing and running it. On almost all the software provided a free play mode can be selected, often called ‘Play Money’ or ‘Fun Money’, before playing on real money games we recommend that you spend a while practicing, particularly if you are new to the experience of online casino gambling.

There are several online casinos that do not require any download, this is particularly true of sites which offer bingo, and these casinos will usually use Flashplayer or Java, these casinos are good because they allow you to start playing immediately, the only problem may be in playing if your computer is relatively old and slow as they can often crash.

Buying Chips:

After having played a few games in the free version of the casino, you can now begin to play with real money. There are several means in existence of transferring money into your player account; normally you will be using a bankcard, or electronic banks, such as Neteller. Once you have made your transaction the money should appear in your account automatically and there will be a portion of the screen that will tell you how much you have left, and will debit amounts in real time as you wager on games.

Withdrawing Money:

Different casinos will have different policies regarding the withdrawal of funds, some set limits on the minimum and maximum amounts that you will be able to withdraw in any one transaction, they may refund by cheque or via the banking system, and they will ask you to verify your identity through the provision of copies of official documentation. Read carefully the terms and conditions relating to withdrawal policies of the individual casino that you have chosen to play at.

Deposits are not necessary to take advantage of bonuses:

Certain online casinos offer their players a bonuses, generally this is around £10, it is often the case that you will have to provide proof of identity and also your bankcard, but nothing will be debited.

Welcome Bonuses:

All online casinos now offer a bonus to players on their first deposit. Sometimes these are fixed price bonuses, but on other occasions it is dependent on the amount of the deposit. Occasionally the bonuses will be represented as a percentage according to the deposit, such as 100% bonus, meaning that if you deposit £10 you will receive £10, normally the maximum amount they offer is £50.

Conditions for obtaining the bonus:

The bonuses are for players benefit! The casinos want players to avoid players obtaining the bonus and then leaving the site on the same day once they have won, to stop players from doing this, casinos put in a clause that you must play through a certain amount of times the value of the bonus, for example, if you get a bonus of £50, they may insist that you play through £500 before you can withdraw any winnings- this does not mean that you will need to deposit £500 in order to get the bonus, because you are very likely to win games and you will thus be playing through most of the necessary amount with money that you have won- if you win £1000 on a game, you could walk away with £500!

How to be an expert gambling

Author : admin 05/16/2009

With the alarming surge in the sales and popularity of casino, poker and bingo games in the recent past, professional gaming has been gaining considerable grounds as well. The scenario of online gambling has traveled by leaps and bounds transitioning from single player to multiplayer gaming and eventually to professional gambling. This entire flow of development gives opportunities for casino players as well as developers to earn handsome amounts and prize money involved in these games. Courtesy the propagators, Starcraft and Battle.net, that the concept of pro-gaming has today reached great heights in the global scene. Here are a few tips to help you become a professional gamer.

Think of it as a professional:

It is widely misconceived that the more time you donate to the gaming the more you are likely to become an online professional gamer. On the contrary, it all owes to how professional an attitude you extend towards the game. Gambling 14 hours daily can be surely a killer but professionals who keep a good tonicity prior to competitions, play 8 hours everyday. Instead of dwindling on the same game for hours together, it is cleverer to resort to a more alert and strategic approach in order to cope with the constraints of time and manage winning habits.

Learn from your own mistakes:

There is nothing like learning from one’s own mistakes. Life has, more than once, tested our patience and we know that the more we fail the more we learn. Also watching carefully the mistakes of other pros can be equally helpful. Knowledge of how to lose holds greater importance than win in the books of a professional gamer on the web. Good professionals learn from their mistakes fast and the more sportingly you accept a loss, the more you will be able to cope with the ruthless mental exhaustion and depression associated with the game. Try and adopt new and shortcut tricks by watching others’ games. It does help a lot.

Pay attention to details:

It is better to do away with the fun factor and concentrate more on the details. It takes a lot to excel in the area of online pro-gaming and to do so you need to pay due attention to all the finer points of the game including fine knowledge about the bonuses, reviews and other information that are available. It is more of brains that you require here than feelings. Paying attention to the details will help you grasp the nitty-gritty of the game faster in order to taste success.

Assistance from a gambling clan:

It is only with the due help from a gambling clan that you can expect to excel in the area of professional gambling, be it casinos or online poker. Without the assistance of their support, feedback, logistics and utility support, it is almost impossible to make it successfully into the playing area.

Multitasking:

Multitasking is one area that a professional gambler needs to be skilled in. High action in every alternate second reflects his aptitude in executing the game mechanics by means of spontaneous and instinctive responses. You essentially require being able to dabble skillfully with macro and micromanagement.
